Week 21:

This blessing took place the week of February 16 th – 22 nd In the previous week I talked about the little things being the blessing… This week my goal was to encourage and up lift as many people I could. I tried my best to give a smile instead of a frown, to remind people they are special, and to take a minute to make sure a friend is doing okay. I realized doing this made me feel better, by taking the focus off of myself and placing it on others it helped put things in perspective. I think in life sometimes we could all use a change in perspective. Life isn't always as bad as it may seem and I've learned my "American" problems don't even compare to problems other cultures have. I'm not perfect and I'll never be perfect but I have learned sometimes it better to be the solution than the problem. We need more people to strive to be selfless instead of selfish. Society doesn't owe me anything; this country has given me freedoms and opportun...

Week 20:

This blessing took place the week of February 9 th – 15 th When I first decided to actually begin this journey I remember having a conversation with my husband. I had grand plans to do big gestures… To buy groceries for someone, purchase a tank of gas for someone, or help pay someone's rent. My husband was very supportive and told me that if I felt led to do those things I could, but he also reminded me we had our own bills to pay. As well as a son who needed us to provide for him. He told me that sometimes the best thing I could do for someone is simply smile. He also told me that I might not always be able to bless strangers, and that sometimes I will be blessing people I've known for many years. He begged me to not get discouraged, because a simple small gesture for someone I know isn’t enough. How right he was! My very first week of this journey I posted about a man who wanted to be on the Elderly and Handicap Taxi Program, I shared his story with you. I have par...

Week 19:

This blessing took place the week of February 1 st – 8 th   I am thrilled to finally be able to write this post. We found out on February 1 st my sister in law was in labor and we would FINALLY meet our sweet niece Eva. Since Eva has an older brother mommy and daddy needed somebody to keep an eye on big brother while we waited to meet Eva. Oscar and I were thrilled to be able to watch JD while Ivone was in labor. Since its February and we live in Arkansas it's too cold to play outside. So, we took the boys to the mall and let them run around and play in the kid area they have in the mall. We had a great time running, jumping, and eating candy. Shh… don't tell his parents! Ha! Once, Eva was here we took big brother and Cousin Eli to meet the newest member of the family. What a sweet moment to have been honored to have shared. JD was excited to meet his sister he kept saying, "Baby Eva". We, as a family, are very thankful to report both mommy and baby...
